What 'portable' actually means here

A portable build runs without installation: no setup wizard, no Program Files entry, no Start menu shortcuts, no uninstaller. You extract it where you want — a folder, a USB stick — and run it. What portable does not mean is 'leaves no trace of activation': the licence it writes into the Windows licensing store is the entire point, and it stays after you delete the tool.

Running from a USB stick

The portable build works from removable media, which is useful for technicians activating multiple machines. Two caveats: add the USB folder to each machine's Windows Security exclusions before running, and safely eject afterwards — the licensing service holds no lock on the tool, but a yanked stick mid-write corrupts the tool, not the licence.
